The Majority Of Guam Speaks

The Gennarinis are on island.  They arrived at the airport.  Unfortunately, they were greeted by a LITTLE mob of angry junglefolks.  As anyone can see from the video below, their group is very small.  After reading all the comments, it is very obvious that they do not have the support of the majority of Catholics on Guam.  In fact, a majority of them are very embarrassed that this happened. You can view the video at the PNC facebook weblink below:

These are a few of the comments below regarding the behavior of the protesters.  I just listed 21 comments from 21 different people.  There are many more who were AGAINST the protesters' behavior.  A vast majority of people who made comments are not in the Way, and they do not support the jungle's behavior.  Comments who supported the protesters were extremely few.  In fact, they are basically the same people.  Those who were against these protesters came from a variety of backgrounds and were more in number:

1.  Daphanie Ngirachelsau:  how rude yelling at him

2.  Dennise MarieThis is absolutely appalling to watch. They should be so ashamed of their actions. Yes, we all have freedom to choose to do what we wish, but to conduct yourself in this manner and call yourself a Christian is embarrassing.

3.  Doreen CabreraWow! This is just so embarrassing. This is just one of the reasons why catholics have been changing their religions. What in the world!!!

4.  Aric Garcia:  That is sad, my parents use to say to me in Chamorro " to mai mai gรน
Si Jesus" ( god is not sleeping) all I know is that is just wrong.

5.  Javier IsidroI don't feel that these protesters are acting Catholic at all. Just let the guy be. People have the right to practice their own religious beliefs. "The First Amendment" people.

6.  Tiarra Jean Tyquiengco:  You act of what they're doing is so hypocritical!!! This is not what jesus would do! Shame on you people. Why do you act like that? You may not agree with change or like what you have heard, but is this a way of acting? You do not say such things like this to anyone or act like that, so foolish!

7.  Meno Franklin: What gives them the right to go and act like idiots about a person belief especially at the airport. They should go home themselves

8.  Shauntay Aflleje: I agree with almost everyone here. Is this how catholics behave? Is this the Hafa Adai spirit? Can you imagine what other visitors who were in the airport at the time were thinking?? Shame of you guys for not only making your faith look bad bit your island as well ๐Ÿ˜

9.  Mae Taitague: Oh my goodness! Can't believe that was happening at the airport in Guam. Not so nice!

10.  Travis Sanchez: Wow how embarrassing from all you elderly people of guam... is this how guam is YOU SHOULD JUST GO HOME AND PRAY LOL TO SDMH...DON'T JUDGE PEOPLE FOR THERE DOINGS AND THE THINGS THEY'VE DONE WE ALL HAVE A REASON FOR THE THINGS WE DO AND WHY WE DO IT... LET HIM BE AND THE THINGS HE BELIEVES IN ALONE MAYBE THAT'S WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE CHANGE THERE RELIGION LOL....SMGDH YOU GUYS NEED JESUS LOL

11.  Jazmin Sanchez: SMH ๐Ÿ˜ Saying a prayer for all of those protesters. Instead of showing hate, go to church and pray for the guy. My goodness!

12.  Darlene Dydasco Camacho: Wow! I am not in any way Neo, but this is so embarrassing. We are not a people with so much hatred we cannot protest in silence and peace. God will provide. Prayer is much stronger. Come on Guam! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

13.  Angelica Denena: How embarrassing for our people. The first thing those people see are these "protesters", not the beauty of our island and warmth of our people.

14.  Lynn Meno Santos: Where was security? They should've been escorted off airport property.

15,  Jason F. Cruz: these people need to grow up and stop being a child they need to remember that Guam is a respectful Island we welcome everyone no matter what the situation but to do things like this is what makes Guam look Bad.

16.  Theresa Gutierrez-Eustaquio: Oh my goodness, so much hate. That's no way to be a Catholic. It makes me very sad to see that

17,  Ralia Marie: I may not be in favor neocatechumenal but this is very shameful.

18.  Jennifer Lynn This makes me really sad... No matter what you may disagree with when it comes to the Neocatechumenal Way, this is no way to treat a person .

19.  Jade Binx: Wow such shame. Where the hell is airport police at?

20. Joan Ysauo Reseky: Wow I'm not pointing fingers but tis is pretty embarrassing for us as a whole community of mixed islanders. It doesn't matter what church or island whatever ur from or what, tis is our island of paradise welcoming many many different different people no.matter what ethical believes u have. it's the love that makes us unique n the kindness family oriented believes in one unity and so forth. But after watching tis video it scares Me to think that the actually did tis to.tis poor.man. now what he's gonna say about the welcoming committee? My believes is no.matter what church and what not...if u are so called church or god believers then cast out whatever u hears and just go.with ur own believes. Following others in doing tis.is just shameful and it doesn't matter what the guy did.KEEP.UP.THE LOVE FOR.ONE ANOTHER AND DECREASE DA HATE OF.EVERYONE

21.  Linda Perez:   I'm not Catholic but it seemed rude. They should have protested in silence and from a distance. They were practically in his face and loud. Everyone has a right worship In their own way.

Freedom of expression includes the right to protest.  However, there are limits to freedom of expression.  One of the reasons why the United States have lost so much of their moral values is because people started looking more at their "rights" and forget their "responsibilities" that comes with those rights.  They prefer to have "rights", but no "responsibilities."  You have a right to protest, but you have a responsibility to be respectful of other people's rights.

The reason why many do not support these protesters is because of their rude and disrespectful behavior.  So, Rome is not listening to the junglefolks.  What you see in the video, which was captured on PNC news is not freedom of expression.  Going up to a person's face and yelling at him even as he was putting his luggage into the car is harassment.

Kudos to the Gennarinis for turning the other cheek and not retaliating.  By following what Jesus has taught, he has gained the support of the majority of Catholics and even non-Catholics on this island.  He has shown how a real Christian is supposed to behave.

    1. Dear Celeste,

The name is not "jungle folks." The name is "junglefolks"........one word. It is one word because I am referring them as the folks from Junglewatch.......not folks from the jungle. It is a shortened name like Joe is short for Joseph. THE Jungle is the shortened name for Junglewatch, and junglefolks is the shortened name of folks from Junglewatch.

    3. The goal of these violent thugs is to stir emotions until an explosion would take place hurting and mauling people beyond recognition. They openly declared their obnoxious goal of their dirty job at the Junglewatch blog under the supervision of professional hate monger Timothy Rohr.

Someone just asked Rohr at the jungle why is he doing all this hate mongering. "I am good at it, ain't I?" was his answer. Make your own conclusion.

    2. Violent mob is a correct description. Old people with Parkinson and Alzheimer are being sent out to do the dirty job for the troublemaker. Yelling is nothing less than verbal violence. It is just the first step toward physical violence that is the real goal of the jungle mob. Just think about angry people who yell before they hit.

Is it really necessary that someone would be hit, mauled and physically attacked before everyone realizes what this angry and violent mob is doing on Guam in service of the troublemaker?!

    3. Dear Anonymous at 12:20 pm,

I agree that verbal violence is only one step away from physical violence. Physical violence usually starts out with verbal violence. Where is airport security? Would they step in when it turns to physical violence. By then, it would be too late. Intervention should start the moment one senses a possible escalation from bad to worse.

It is xenophobia, folks! It is inciting violence against those who come here with the approval and endorsement of Rohr! A sad message against the tradition of an island famous for its hospitality and welcoming spirit extended to everyone!

Rohr became a Catholic Charlie Manson who orders his fans to go violent, while he washes his hands in his disguise of being "innocent".

  4. @celeste and Anon. 10:11 am, those who have been reading Diana's blog have used the name "junglefolks" as referring to those who are from Junglewatch. JW calls itself "the Jungle". Tim Rohr has been known to tell his opponents not to play In the jungle. So, that's where the name comes from. Since that time, JW or Junglewatch has been called the jungle because that's also what Tim calls his blog. The name "junglefolks" was always referring to those from the Junglewatch blog, and not meant as an offense of any kind.

  5. I have been equivocal for a some time in distancing moderate disagreement with the Neocatechumenal Way from the radicalism of Junglewatch. NCW and JW are not the opposing ends of Catholic life on Guam.

NCW is a faith group that tries to entice the parishioners to join them, mostly by standard religious recruiting techniques. Those who cannot resist the enticement of NCW will join and I have nothing against this. However, I maintain my right to criticize particular issues that NCW promotes. Among them is perhaps the biggest question about NCW: why don't you guys just return to our churches and share fellowship with the different church groups inside the same parish?

My disagreement with NCW won't make me a follower of JW. I just find the radicalism of JW counterproductive and dangerous. The clueless protesters who are sent out by JW to wreak havoc at the airport are not even aware of what they are being used for! I see political ambitions by traditionalist groups that should keep their politics away from the church.

One has to ask what is JW thinking to achieve through shouting loudly and impolitely at people at the Guam airport? What is the purpose of this ridiculous misbehavior? Would Mr. Gennarini change his mind and resign from the Board of Guarantors of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary? This is an erroneous assumption with no basis at all. If they wanted to humiliate him, it is even worse. A high representative of a religious group won't show friendliness when vilified, won't support reconciliation with arrogant adversaries.

I had quoted the 12 Rules of Radicals on this blog written by the extreme liberal Saul Alinsky. It is just too sad that JW and its leaders follow closely these liberal tactics to make more and more trouble for everyone, without offering any real solution that would lead our beloved Catholic diocese out of this sad situation we have now.

    1. Hi, I'm in the NCW. For years I have been to Sunday masses. It wasn't clicking with me. I was hardly touched by anything. I couldn't even understand what the priest would say because of the bad sound quality of their systems. I wanted to leave this "organized regligion." BUT I DIDN'T!

Regardless, I have always been a Catholic. I almsot left. I tried out this NCW. What happened to me now? I go to Sunday mass still. I go to Saturday mass still. I can now be attentive in Sunday mass. I understand now why we Catholics do things. It wasn't just repetition for me anymore. The NCW helped me understand the value of a Christian lifestyle. Joining the NCW made me a better Catholic. It helped me and the hell I was in. It helped me love my Faith.

Return to the churches? FYI, for many brothers in the NCW, we returned. Others, they never left. Thank God.

The way people have been speaking about money is a Protestant interpretation. Only in protestant churches do they get to hire and fire their pastors. They believe that "I pay, I decide what happens in my church". Go become a Lutheran because the Catholic Church don't play that way. Bishop is not ur employee. He is ur spiritual leader.
