Matthew 21:28-31 "What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.' "'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. "Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go. "Which of the two did what the father wanted?" "The first," they answered. Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you."

A Video On The Virtue Of Obedience

A good example to add would be Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe. If you look up his feast in the breviary (August 14), there is a beautiful second reading in the office of readings. He says that one should obey the superiors even when they make a mistake. Unless obeying would be sinful, one must obey even mistaken orders!!! because it is God who allowed it, and he NEVER makes a mistake.
ReplyDeleteBut kiko is not even a priest.
DeleteDear Anonymous at 10:53 p.m.,
DeleteThe important thing is that one follows God and His Church regardless of whether one is a priest or not. Cardinal Arinze also advised young priests to always obey their Bishops even if their bishops made a mistake. It is only when the Bishop gives an sinful or immoral order that one can disobey. There is nothing sinful in opening up a parish for the Way nor walking in the Way.
What is sinful and immoral is favoring the way advice all other Catholics. Of placing kiko above the Pope.
DeleteDear Anonymous at 9:45 p.m.,
DeleteWe never put Kiko above the Pope. We have always recognized the Pope as the Successor of the Apostle Peter.
Anon 5:46 PM what page in the brievary.
ReplyDeleteSt. Francis of Assisi wasn't a priest either. Nor was Chiara Lubich. Or Catherine of Siena, Teresa of Avila, etc etc etc.
ReplyDeleteSo what is your point anonymous? Great to know the saints but they are dead. We are all called to be saints not by talking about other saints but by living like one. Sarcastic comments ....a window into you heart.
ReplyDeleteMy point is that wether Kiko is a priest or not is irrelevant to the conversation. If I wanted to be sarcastic I would point out that Chiara Lubich is not a saint, yet, or point out that you are putting an end to any sort of meaningful dialogue with comments like "Sarcastic comment…a window into your heart". What are you saying about my heart with that? but I'm not interested in sarcasm and facetiousness but in real dialogue. Someone remarks that Kiko is not a priest, and I reply, that the point is irrelevant, especially since no one is telling you to obey Kiko. Obey the successor of the apostles, Archbishop Anthony Apuron.
ReplyDeleteBut whom does aaa obey? Kiko
DeleteDear Anonymous at 9;46 p.m.,
DeleteThe Archbishop obeys the Pope. Did you not see him speaking privately to the Pope in South Korea?
Apologies to you Anonymous 9:59. Get to the heart of the matter.....straight to the point. If Kiko is not revelant to your questions or concerns....dont bring him up. Its like this question.....do you want to follow Jesus Christ....YES or NO..? Anything else...any excuses.....thoughts....drawn out response's is from you know who.
