Testimony of Joseph T. Naputi

There were a few good things that came out of these recent events.  Catholic Families for Apuron has been created.  Therefore, Archbishop Hon now knows that there is a group of people who supports Archbishop Apuron.  Dr. Eusebio is President of this new group.

Another good thing that came out is the huge number of people who signed the petitions presented to Governor Calvo.  There were about 5000 signatures, which is more than what "Silent No More" put in. Therefore, there are many more people who not only want to see justice for the victims, but also do not want to see innocent people suffer as a result of obtaining justice.  A justice that brings suffering to innocents is no justice at all.

As always, the NCW continues to evangelize and grow.  We continue our celebrations of the word and the Eucharist.  We continue to have our monthly convivence.  The NCW has helped some people on our island.  One of the brothers from the Neocatechumenal Way gave his testimony, which can be found here and in Pacific Daily News:

My name is Joseph T. Naputi. I walk in the 1st Neocatechumenal Way Community of Chalan Pago within the Nuestra Señora De La Paz y Buen Viaje parish. I am Catholic.
I believe the Neocatechumenal Way is not being fairly portrayed in the media. Lost is how the Way has helped people’s lives.
When I was single, as a typical young adult, I partied and danced in night clubs, sung in karaoke bars, and got quite drunk. Did a lot of stupid things. And I was not happy. I was alone. I felt I was not loved. One night, I broke down and cried out to God. He heard my cries. God led me back to the Church and I am now married with two sons.
What am I trying to say? The Neocatechumenal Way helped me realize that God was always by my side and never abandoned me. Jesus loves me! The Way helped me discover the richness of the Bible -- to see God speaking to me in scripture. After being introduced to the Liturgy of the Hours, around 4 a.m. each morning, my wife and I do our morning prayer and Office of Readings. And the Way helped me to experience the love and mercy of God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Is the Neocatechumenal Way the only way to discover God? Of course not! My wife and I are also active in Couples for Christ.
The Neocatehumenal Way is God’s gift to me.
Joseph T. Naputi is a resident of Chalan Pago.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 10:09 pm,

The drama is no different than the drama in your own life.

    2. The drama in my life does not need to involve the public, Diana. Lol. You neos enjoy the public drama when humans naturally judge others. That's why confessions are done with a priest and not in the public. Even now, you judge in all your posts without ever providing any documents or proof but only provide a view. But it's ok cause the ultimate judgement day for all of us is inevitable and I'm at peace with my life. Are you?

    3. Dear Anonymous at 11:28 am,

We are witnesses to God acting in our lives just like the Apostles. The Apostles also gave public testimonies of how God has acted through them. We share our testimonies just like the Apostles. This was how they evangelize.

    4. So then the ctradional hurch made up the confession box and in your belief as a neo that public confession is the way to confess our drama? For thousands of years, the church has passed down the traditional confessions as privately done through a priest but the neo way is to publicly confess? Hmmmm..... Another way to put it is that this archdiocese in catholic schools and in CCD classes teach confession is done in private with a priest. So the teachings are wrong and should be done publicly. Correct?

Either this archdiocese are hypocrites or it needs to reevaluate its curriculum for Catholic traditions to conform to the right way. It can't be both. Go figure.

    5. Those who do not follow instruction from their supervisor are anarchists. Church anarchists are a well known group in the Catholic Church. They are heretics, denying the power of the Pope and the bishops.

The jungle is an anarchist group. They obey instruction only if it fits their purpose. Their goal overrides church authority.

The jungle is a bunch of jerks rejected by all other Catholics on earth so they came to Guam to wreak havoc here. They are gang raping their way through the minds of peaceful Catholics. Rohr, White, LaPaz, Gluccon, Frenchie, these are the anarchist masterminds.

All priests who join the anarchists are defying priestly ordination. Their obedience is anarchist goals rather than with the church. They swear allegiance to man-made power, not to God. Their authority is a self-made anarchist. They are openly attacking, threatening and intimidating church leders like the Apostolic Administrator.

Archbishop Hon cannot cater to anarchists any longer. He has to restore the faith of the faithful. He has to demonstrate the true power of the Catholic Church of Pope Francis. It is not an option but a must!

Otherwise our church is doomed to the anarchists who managed their ways to dictate to the Guam Legislature and impose on the Governor! Only the Church that is still standing. We pray for Archbishop Hon that he restores church authority and gets rid of the anarchists, according to the will of Jesus Christ.

    7. Dear Anonymous at 12:43 pm,

Apparently, you do not know the difference between a confession and a testimony. The OP is about a testimony. Testimonies are made public. Confessions are always private between and the priest as "in persona Chrisit".

    8. Actually confessionals are a very recent invention. The church is 2000 years old, confessionals are less than 500 hundred years old. So for 1500+ years the sacrament of reconciliation was administered outside the confessional. I'm not advocating public confessions and I am not saying that this post is a confession, just hoping that by pointing out how ignorant you are of church history you might allow the possibility that you are also ignorant of the neocatechumenal way.

    9. Dear Anonymous at 3:41 pm,

Actually, confessions go back to the first century regardless of whether it was made in public or in a booth. Confessionals are different from testimonies in that person confessing their sins ask for forgiveness while those giving testimony are proclaiming God's existence and acting in their lives. Confessions have always existed since the first century. In fact, it is mention in the Holy Bible. According to the Bible:

James 5:16. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. They prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

So.......look who turned out to be ignorant, after all. :-)

    10. U need to reread my post bc I did not speak of confessions but of confessionals. And I said I do not consider this post a confession. The sacrament of reconciliation has evolved from the time of Jesus to now. I purposefully did not go into that but just mentioned that the confessional is only 500 years old and that confessions were done outside the confessional before.

    11. So Diana, you're saying that the "testimonies" that you neos profess after the homilies on Sunday's or sometimes towards the end of mass aren't public confessions when they confess about their infidelities outside of their marriages, the masterbation or their porn addictions or the partying they done before finding the Lord again?

How is that a proclamation and not a public confession in front of the whole church congregation inside of the mass? To me, I don't want to know the dirty laundry of another persons drama because I don't want to ever judge that person. But we are all human and our views can be mistaken as a view of judgement when it's not intended that way. Let the Lord be our only Judge.

      Delete
    12. Dear Anonymous at 4:29 pm,

What is spoken BEFORE the homilies is called "echoes". They are not confessions of infidelities, or anything like that. When a person echoes, he/she is expressing how the readings touched them. These echoes are very brief.

A testimony is also not a confession. It is a proclamation of God's existence and how He has manifested Himself in his/her life. If you read Mr. Naputi's testimony in the OP, he is not asking God for forgiveness, which is what a confession is. A person who is a witness proclaims their testimony just like the Apostles did. We are called to be witnesses for Christ.

    14. Dear anon at 1:10, you are right, the only god of anarchists is themselves. Anarchy means no rule, no leadership, no authority. They are their own rulers, their own kings and their own gods. Anarchists are worshiping themselves! What a shame!

Except that little by little it's turning out that they are in the right. We're finding out that the Apuron's actions with Fr. Paul and Msnr. Benavente were wrong and are now being overturned. RMS has not produced documents to prove that what those people at CCOG said was wrong. All this is happening due to AB Hon, the Vatican rep, investigations.
      What happens now?

    16. Dear Anonymous at 12:56 pm,

Monsignor James was cleared because the people in charge are against the Way. Nevertheless, God allowed this to happen. Monsignor James was given a second chance so I hope he learns a valuable lesson and move on as Father Paul did.

    18. Dear anon at 12:56, the anarchists are not right in anything! Fr. Paul distanced himself from the jungle because he was repulsed of Rohr's destructive tactic of burning up the whole church! Fr. James had never exposed himself with the anarchists because he wants to remain in communion with the Pope and with the Apostolic Administrator.

Now, look at it what the anarchists want: they want to kick Archbishop Hon from Guam! They ordered their followers to demand on their posters "Hon go home!" and other unacceptable things. Rohr personally threatened Archbishop Hon to sue him out of his pants.

These anarchists are not gods and not popes! Lol. They are nobodies in the rank of God. They may worship their own power but the Catholic Church is not bound to follow them. There is only one God in heaven and one Pope sitting in Rome!

We are here to defend Archbishop Hon! We don't allow him to be kicked out of Guam. We don't allow him to be sued by arrogance and dishonor. We will protect the integrity of our Catholic Church. We'll show this anarchists that the trash heap they are creating right now will be their own eternal dwelling.

You say we are here to defend Archbishop Hon, but some of our own are going behind his back. KUAM said someone filed charges about the cemeteries without his authorization.
Is there another group that we have to defend him from?

    20. Dear Diana @2:48--
You say that people in charge are against the Way. Isn't Archbishop Hon in charge? He is against the Way? If so, the you would think JW people would like him.

    21. Dear Anonymous at 6:30 pm,

Archbishop Hon is in charge, but he has also placed in charge people who hate the Way....people like Father Mike and Father Jeff.

I cannot speak for Archbishop Hon. But this is my personal opinion. I think that Archbishop Hon is trying to restore unity by appeasing the protesters so that the protest would cease. But I do not think he realizes that the real goal of the protesters is to shut down the RM seminary and destroy the NCW.

    1. Its time to move on...let the negativity dwell in the jungle. If we dont pay attention to them they will be gone on two weeks. No one pays attention to them, it is they who seek out the attention, especially from the media.
If you cross their line, you are against them. They are getting very desperate because certain clergy are not reacting in ways they expected. Rev Michael Crisostomo spoke of an "undercurrent". he was referring to them. They are the ones making everything complicated. They dont know when to stop. They boasted about a greater turn out for their last picket at cathedral because of Hon scolding Micheal C. but they were even more pissed when Michael didnt stand up to Hon. Dont forget they even threw Father Paul under the bus when he accepted the apology of Hon. These people are nuts. They are part of the abomination in the temple.
I hear rumors that although they cannot be removed from their picket lines they will soon have to relocate because the there will be construction happening on the side walks surrounding the cathedral in preparation for the December activities.

      Pas!

  5. Dear Anonymous at 10:09pm,

The mass media seems to be more interested in negativity. I suppose this is what sells newspapers and advertising. The positive rarely makes the news. If it does, it is treated as more an afterthought and buried somewhere in the newspaper.

  6. Joe is showing the true strength of our Church: we look at our communities as places worship and of salvation and not of political activity! It is no wonder the jungle blog is unable to produce any testimony for Christ. They are so preoccupied with their agenda of destruction that they don't have time for Jesus.

Thanks to Joe for showing us in this mad time of artifice and controversy what is truly important for the believer.

  8. I know many people in community who like Joe were brought by the NCW to discover the love of God. And who through the NCW continue a prayerful life, through the preparation for word, preparation for Eucarist, Word on Wednesdays and Eucarist on Saturdays and for some Eucarist on Sunday as well.

When I was not in the Way, it was Church on Sunday and that was it, and now that I'm in the Way, it is Word, Eucarist, Morning prayer, preps, convevances. The Way is showing me how to live the christian life.

We don't go around though making noise and trying to get attention.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 1:21 pm,

The pope did no such thing. Anthony Apuron is still the Archbishop of Agana. Monsignor James has been given a second chance. We hope he learns his lesson and move on to being a better priest. Father Paul has moved on and even gets along with the Agana communities. In fact, Father Paul joined the Agana communities in their agape. We hope Monsignor James is also able to move on and leave the jungle behind him as Father Paul did.

You prefer documents and proof rather than views. I wish that you preferred only documents and proof. Unfortunately, JW offers these, at times, and much more: disrespect, loathing attitude toward fellow Christians, and no sense of forgiveness. Today, October 1, is the memorial of St. Theresa of the Child of Jesus. She wrote, very appropriately: "Love of God is measured by our love of neighbor." Anonymous, who is your neighbor?
