Special Meeting Last Night

Last night, the NCW had a special meeting at Asan Church with our head catechist, Father Pius. For those who were there, he gave us some good news.  First of all, Kiko Arguello will be starting a pilgrimage from Canada to South America.  Kiko is 76 years old (if I am not mistaken) and he feels his time to join Carmen Hernandez will be soon.  He will be in Denver, Colorado on March 11th.  So, the communities are invited to meet with him in Denver.

Secondly, another good news is that there are catechesis still ongoing in Agana, Agat, and Merizo. The catechesis is going well.  Fourteen people attended the catechesis in Agana, and ten people attended the catechesis in Agat.  I do not remember the number in Merizo.

In the third place, Father Pius will be staying in Guam.  He will be meeting with some of the brothers in the communities. A schedule was made out and some of the communities were given a schedule as to when they will be meeting for their next step. They will also be meeting with those who stood up during the vocation calling at the Beginning of the Year Convivience and Transmital.

Finally, a team of catechists will be going to the neighboring islands to establish the Neocatechumenal Way there.  The bishops of those islands have already given permission to establish an NCW in one of their parishes.

  2. Now I see much better why Jungle nation needs evangelization. Fr. Pius explained that many Catholics are "sacramentalized" but not evangelized. They follow rules and observe holidays, even attend the church regularly, but are not truly connected to Jesus Christ through the Bible. This is a big problem because Jesus himself is the Word of God!

You can connect to Jesus Christ through faith. We do this in our communities. There is no other thing that could do this better than the communities! We walk in the communities as children of God. People who have not been evangelized cannot even imagine why and how could this happen. But it does happen!

Sacramentalized people can be complacent believing that they fulfill all requirements for a believer. But they don't. This is not necessarily their own fault. All they need is a conversion by the Word, an evangelization by the good news of Jesus Christ! I am sure many people picketing at the church could use their time much better reading the Bible.

CCOG, LFM, JW, Tim Rohr, Dave Sablan, David Lujan, etc. all these people would need to be evangelized!

    1. Anonymous 1:01 you have a very arrogant attitude that you know all. It was the same attitude of the the Emperial Roman Catholic church that the Marianas, and the whole Pacific world need to be conquered and evangelize because they were pagans...bigotry, arrogance all over again in the 21st century.

    2. Dear Anonymous at 9:10 pm,

So, Christ was being arrogant when he commanded His Apostles to spread the Gospels to the Gentiles, who were considered pagans? Paganism is not the truth. Christianity is the truth.

    3. Anon at 9:10 pm, you did not get it, did you? Sacramentalization is the easy-lazy way of being a Catholic. It is not your fault if you think it is enough for you to say the Rosary every day, attend the mass on Sundays and this will make you a Christian. No! No Rosary and no Sunday mass will make you a Christian unless you learn to suffer the cross of Jesus Christ. Until you take your own cross and follow him, you are not evangelized.

    4. Anonymous 9:10pm, what really offends you about 1:01pm? Honestly, when I first read the comment I got a little upset because I felt like this person was making the accusation that "sacramentalized" catholics not in the NCW do not know Jesus. I was offended because I felt this person was advocating that the NCW is the only way to know Jesus and that Jesus does not exist outside of the NCW. But that is not true is it? So I believe that this is not what this person means. Instead, I think his/her intentions were to share that Jesus is real for him/her and that he/she experiences that in the NCW.

So, please try to understand that 1:01pm, is just trying to share with you how important Jesus is to him/her. If God is that important to you, too, there is no reason to be upset at our brother/sister for sharing that. Remember, God is not only the God of those in the NCW. He is also our God, our Father. And that makes 1:01pm our brother/sister in Christ.

  3. Didn't you list the neighboring islands that NCW intends to conquer next? Sending best wishes and prayers to the Catholic parishes currently established there.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 3:43 pm,

Yes, I did. But I was told that the jungle may target those islands, so I reconsidered and decided to remove their names.

    2. Interesting that you say the Jungle may target those islands, when its the NCW that will be targeting those islands.

  5. "I have conquered the world." It is our Master that does the conquering, we announce the Good News of His love and mercy. He speaks and to those who hear His voice...their lives are transformed. That's it, nothing more. To Him be the glory forever and ever! Through Him may justice be served.

    1. That is one of my favorite gospel passages in the bible, especially when Jesus asks his apostles, "Do you now believe?"

      Then what follows that is:

"Listen, a time will come - indeed it has come already - when you are going to be scattered, each going on his own way and leaving me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may find peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage; I have conquered the wold." John 16:32-33

      Beautiful....

Thank you anonymous 11:29pm for sharing.

  6. If The seat of Peter is truly installed by Christ Himself, and that individual (Every Pope since Blessed John Paul II) has not only given their blessing for the Neocatechumenal Way, but also declared it to be a Charism of the Church and that they follow and Obey Rome... where is the issue? Unless you do not follow the Pope or are in line with Rome?

Either way... "The other is Christ"... Courage to see that in the end... we NEED Christ... that is the end game isn't it?
