My Take On Byrnes Interview

My assumption was correct....Archbishop Byrnes was not walking the picket line. In the interview, he said that he came out to say hello and greet the people with the signs and then he went inside.  That was his intention. Bob Klitzkie, Andrew Camacho, and Gerald Taitano were incorrect in their assumption.  Andrew and Gerald may have been there, but they misinterpreted Archbishop Byrnes' action. To walk with them is the same thing as to protest, and that was not the intention of Archbishop Byrnes.  So, the jungle was wrong about Archbishop Byrnes walking the picket line.  He was not there to walk with them nor to protest with them, but to greet them and get to know them.  The jungle was also wrong about the canonical trial.  They said the trial did not exist. Archbishop Byrnes confirmed that the trial exits, and he is 100% certain of it.

From the interview, I also see that he is still learning things and processing them. Obviously, he has learned a few things about the RM Seminary.  He stated that RMS is unique.  The seminarians in RMS are from the Neocatechumenal Way.  The fact that these seminarians came from the NCW would only provoke positive impressions on Archbishop Byrnes with the NCW in that we inspire vocations.

He also pointed out that some of the priests felt neglected because Archbishop Apuron was in the Way and tend to favor the RMS priests more.  In all fairness to Archbishop Apuron, I see it differently.  Before the Way was on Guam, Archbishop Apuron had always been present in all the parish fiestas and confirmations.  He visited the parishes and schools. At that time, none of the priests had any conflict with him nor did they felt neglected.  After the Neocatechumenal Way came to Guam, Archbishop Apuron did not change his routine habit.  He continued to visit the parishes and schools.  He continued to attend the parish fiestas and confirmations.  So, his routine did not change at all.  It was the same as usual.  What changed was the attitude of some of the priests.

They saw a "change" in Archbishop Apuron.  They saw that he was happy and full of joy after being a member of the NCW, and they wanted to take that joy away from him.  They perceived that he was spending too much time with the RMS priests; therefore, they did not want him to be a member of the NCW.  So, in all fairness to Archbishop Apuron......he treated the priests the same way as he always did regardless of whether the NCW was there or not. His routine of attending parish fiestas and confirmation never changed.

The priests who suddenly felt neglected blamed Archbishop Apuron for their feelings of neglect. Sometimes, one needs to look deeper into one's heart to discover that the real cause is not the other person but oneself.  What they really wanted was what the RMS priests have.  Envy and jealousy are sins, and all sins cause division.

  2. I'm sure you won't publish the link to the KUAM interview because it's pretty damning to your darling Adrian. Especially since Archbishop Byrnes reveals that the records of the Archdiocese are in extreme disarray. The former and disposed Chancellor, Adrian Cristobol, neglected to do his job.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 11:15 am,

That is correct. Archbishop Byrnes said the files were in disarray. He never said they were missing. Again, the jungle misinterpreted Archbishop Byrnes to mean that the files are missing. I am not going to fault Father Adrian for being disorganized especially when my colleagues can also see that my desk is a mess. Nevertheless, I know where things are.

    2. Thanks for your reflection, Dr Eusebio. Just that I never saw Apuron full of joy. Not once ever. Sorry.

    3. Dear Anonymous at 3:21 pm,

I am not Dr. Eusebio? Really? You never saw him full of joy??? Nevermind the fact that the jungle actually has shown photos of Archbishop Apuron dancing on stage, swimming in the Dead Sea of Israel, and laughing with the Genarinnis. Of course you could not see that joy even when those photos were being mocked in the jungle. After all, hatred has been known to blind people.

    4. Looks like Bob Klitzkie can't admit when he's wrong. Bob is taking Byrnes statement out of context. When KUAM asked Byrnes about walking in the picket line, his response was clear. He said his intention was to greet them as he was on his way to the front.

    5. Dear Anonymous at 4:14 pm,

Yes, I saw how Bob tries to deceive the readers. Archbishop Byrnes said he supports the protesters call for justice and clear answers. This is what any normal person supports. But he NEVER said that he supports their call for Apuron to be defrocked. In fact, Byrnes even mentioned "innocent until proven guilty" in his interview with KUAM. But naturally, Bob Klitzkie ignored that part in the interview. Nevermind the fact that Bob was a lawyer who once believed in that democratic principle of "innocent until proven guilty." Gone is his belief in that fundamental principle. He now resorts to Witch hunts.

  3. JW wrote down the word "deception" in connection to Archbishop Byrnes' interview at KUAM. They claim Byrnes is deceiving them. This is unforgivable! We have an Archbishop who is standing for law, order and peace inside the church. Partisanship and guerilla warfare, promoted by JW, is over. JW is openly declaring itself as a staunch enemy of the new administration.

I listened to the whole interview, with a sense of unease. I am sure you have experienced the feeling, of an unexplained little voice inside, which tells you, you are not getting truthful answers.

The positive point of the interview, was that we had confirmation of issues at hand on many subject. The negative one, was the avoidance and the deception on several key issues, that we know are absolutely misleading.

My sense of unease during this interview was justified after all. Obviously Archbishop Byrnes, like some in Rome before him, must think we are some back country hicks.... Ummh!!

    1. Frenchie is an outsider. He is ignorant of local culture. Blunt utterance are not the way to go on Guam. He has an excessively creative fantasy, so we have to doubt whatever he says. He produces typical traits of paranoid thinking. His fantasy world has no resemblance to the real one!

    2. Frenchie seems to be speaking strictly from his own emotional point of view. A feeling of unease. I thought, that in matters like these, personal feelings are irrelevant. One can feel uneasy because things are not going the way they would like. Because they would like for Byrnes to witch hunt Apuron the same as they do. Because if a fair trial is given, and all the parties with authority are bipartisan, and Apuron is proven guitly this will backfire on them. That would definitely give me a feeling of unease.
Emotional responses to rally people, instead of logical arguments, based on facts.

  4. The day of BIG SHAME for CCOG and LFM is right here, right now. Every day they miss asking Archbishop Michael about the manner we celebrate Eucharist in the NCW is a day of BIG SHAME of cowardice for them.

CCOG and LFM made the way the Eucharist is distributed a major issue of contention, some kind of WMD, or "weapon of mass destruction" against the NCW. They foolishly thought this single issue will bring down NCW on Guam and will help them to expel the communities from our home island.

Now, they exhibit this incredible cowardice of not daring to ask Archbishop Byrnes about this. Why? Why are they so afraid of learning the truth? Well, because the truth will hurt them: the truth is that there is nothing wrong with the distribution of Eucharist in the NCW! Archbishop Byrnes will them this in clear terms, so that they understand, as soon as they dare to ask the question.

Until then, every passing day is a day of BIG SHAME for CCOG, LFM and the other adversaries of the community based renewal of the Catholic faith on Guam.

    1. They will never ask Ab Byrnes, because they already know the answer in the bottom of their hearts. Who would not know it? The answer is NOT what they say, it is the opposite: the Eucharist in the NCW communities is just right! There is nothing wrong with that. They know it deep in their conscience. But they remain silent, because of their doubt of their own sanity.

  5. Why don't you show your true self Dr. Eusebio and stop hiding behind the name and gender to which you prescribe.
