More Young People Going To Confessions

During the Eucharist Congress last year and the World Youth Day, I have seen many young people lining up for confessions.  In fact, one news report says that many people are returning to confession because of Pope Francis and his support of the New Evanglization.  In Latin America, many people who have not been to confession in a very long time are returning to the sacrament because of what they heard Pope Francis say.  According to Catholic News Service:

Officials of the new evangelization council spoke during a press briefing about Year of Faith activities with Pope Francis May 18-19 for members of lay movements and associations.

Movements and groups including Focolare, Communion and Liberation, the charismatic renewal, the Neocatechumenal Way, Shalom and the U.S.-based Fellowship of Catholic University Students are often on the front lines of new evangelization, Archbishop Fisichella said.

“Many young people, men and women in these church groups have not only rediscovered the faith they lost along the way or a faith that had become sterile and indifferent, but they have undergone a real conversion of their lives,” he said.

The archbishop said the groups’ strong identity, their consistency over time and their strong missionary bent often give them an advantage over parishes where the pastor changes every eight or nine years and the parish’s pastoral outreach changes with him.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 6:33 pm,

I have been deleting some obnoxious comments that are not worth publishing and off topic. I guess the other side is still upset about what I said about personal letters being copyrights.

    1. Dear Mauricio from Netherlands,

Tim is calling me a mule????? Now what did I do this time?? My last four posts is not even about Jungewatch or Tim Rohr. Is he still upset about those letters he published on his blogsite??

    2. Hi Mauricio from the Netherlands. You guys are truly amazing at the Soccer World Cup!! Wow, it is breath taking, I cannot find the words... Just keep going! :)

Thanks for dropping by. You have a great insight about the things we face here. Tim is truly a little fellow who got seriously confused and lost his class completely as you say. Lol! As a compensation, he writes, copies and pastes a lot of stuff, days and nights, to make his blog looking alive. But it is just a cover up of the real issues of his deep seated confusion. We keep praying for him so that he may find the light! Please, also pray for me.

This is why I do not entertain Junglewatch. I do not post there. I like keeping my blog site clean, neat, and spiritual, which is why I post a lot of nice pictures.

  5. From 11:41 AM and the person who also wrote on reminding you all about what our mission is. You all know as I have stated that I have not been in the NCW for long. I decided to go into the jungle and lo and behold, people are at it again.

This is not what I expected. I guess my expectations of the NCW was very high. I am quite disappointed! With all the back lashing occurring, guess I am better off glorifying The Lord in my own private way. So I have decided to go on a cebatical from the community for a while! God bless you all. May the Peace of The Lord be with you All!

    1. Dear Anonymous at 12:47 pm,

Please continue walking with your community. God allowed the crops to grow with the weeds, so there will always be a few bad apples in the NCW as well as the parish and anywhere else you go. The miracle that you will find is not in the back lashing or fighting because you will find that in every NCW community. The miracle is the forgiveness, reconciliation, and love for the brother despite the conflicts in the community. You are new. I have been walking much longer. The miracle is when a spouse forgives the other spouse for adultery or when families decided to give up everything to evangelize in other countries. Those are the miracles and fruits you will find, and these things always comes with conflicts.

    2. Dear Anonymuos 12:47, no we do not condemn you, even as we recognize your talking. Your talking is not of those who are walking. When we who are in the Way have doubts and questions, and believe me from time to time we do have doubts and questions, we go to our responsible in our community or to the presbyter for guidance. We may also talk to our catechists who take everything we ask very seriously. They know how important for us what they tell us so they answer to our concerns very thoroughly by the Spirit!

When we got the answers for our doubts and questions from our sisters and brothers, we keep contemplating and praying. We keep attending the Eucharistic celebrations singing all those songs loud from the bottom of our hearts. Why? Because these songs are full of the Holy Spirit giving us strength and faith. Strength and faith will confirm us in our walking in the Way!

One thing we never do with our doubts and questions: we never go to Tim Rohr's blog to brag in public about "going on cebatical". When you do this, we must ask serious questions about your walking. But, as I said, we do not condemn you. Even if you came here to play dirty. Your experience here will help you to recognize your fault. Then, you'll have the opportunity to change your ways and convert. Would you? Please pray for me.

    3. 12:47 Anon we pray for you if you are in community because if this is main reason of you leaving? Then your foundation of belief when you said YES is shakable. I pray for you if your not just to be cunning . I pray for you also.

    4. No you do not condemn me, but accuse me of playing dirty. I forgive you! I wasn't bragging, I was trying to get across those in the way who were vicious. Regardless of what it Is said...Let Go, Let God!

Maybe I do it understand quite well, what is expected of me, but I expextected a bit more from those who have been walking for a while!

Thank you anyways for your comment.

    5. @5:13 isn't condescension the bullying cousin of the sin of pride?

You doubt the persons sincerity in his statement? Further you condescend on his/her ability to
decide on their faith themselves? Faith is always in the heart. As the Pope said, the Holy Spirit precedes us, the Holy Spirit answered this persons' questions, without needing a responsible or a catechist or a presbyter to chime in. It's all about conditioning when you think these individuals are responsible for your spiritual health.

Good for you sir/maam for taking that sabbatical! Let's go for coffee sometime :)

    6. Dear Catholic United,

When it comes to matters of faith, we do not make decisions on our own as the Protestants do. You say that you don't need a responsible, a catechist or a priest to chime in regards to faith?? A presbyter is a priest. God has always chosen people to lead His flock. He did not tell His sheep to make up their own decisions in regards to faith. Only Protestants do that, which is the reason why they now have over 20,000 different denomination.

Who do you follow in regards to your spiritual health? The Bible alone? I already know that you do not listen nor follow the Archbishop, and in so doing also go against the Holy Bible.

Hebrews 13:17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

And when you go against the Holy Bible, you also go against the teachings of the Catholic Church:

CCC 1269 Having become a member of the Church, the person baptized belongs no longer to himself, but to him who died and rose for us. From now on, he is called to be subject to others, to serve them in the communion of the Church, and to "obey and submit" to the Church's leaders, holding them in respect and affection. Just as Baptism is the source of responsibilities and duties, the baptized person also enjoys rights within the Church: to receive the sacraments, to be nourished with the Word of God and to be sustained by the other spiritual helps of the Church.

    7. "Who do you follow in regards to your spiritual health? The Bible alone? I already know that you do not listen nor follow the Archbishop, and in so doing also go against the Holy Bible".

Incidentally i pray for the Archbishop but not withstanding....

.....you really can't presume to know and judge me, another one of those sins i think?

.....and is a responsible and a catechist one to obey and submit to? The problem with the NCW is they take their responsibles' word as Gospel. Is that what happens when your YES goes to heaven, you have to follow and believe everything your responsible tells you?

Some matters of faith, do you really need a priest all the time to tell you what is obviously and overtly wrong, from right? some matters are black and white and don't require council but for what was already instilled in the history of this man's faith. Or do you also doubt a rational persons ability to self discern on his situation? God gave Him the free will, you not so?

He discerned enough to see that he only needs the Mother Church for his path, Bless him because he blessed you in his post!.....This is by the way something about what Pope Francis said on Feb, the freedom of one must not be forced, respected...

    8. Dear Catholic United,

The Responsible and Catechists are authorities. God puts everyone under authority. Even seminarians have a spiritual director and children are told to be obedient to their parents. The teachings of the Church is clear. You follow those whom God put you under authority.

CCC 1899 The authority required by the moral order derives from God: "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment."

Praying for the archbishop is not the same as being obedient and respectful to him, Catholic United. You have shown no obedience or respect to the Archbishop of Guam. Rather, Tim Rohr has become your Archbishop.

All matters of faith and morals are determine by the Church, and as Catholics we follow everything the Church says on matters of faith and morals. You say that some things are black and white. If that were true, then why is abortion legal? Why did some states and countries pass same sex marriage? When it comes to making decisions as to what whether we should buy a house, whether to send the kids to private or public schools, etc. one can make those decisions. Regarding faith and morals, a Catholic is supposed to listen to what the Church teaches on those things.

Yes, the pope says to respect the person if he/she wishes to join or leave the community. The Pope NEVER said that when you have doubts on matters of faith.....do not go to a priest. The poster who suggested that if a person has doubts they should see their catechists, responsible, or priest is correct.

    9. Diana - good point and nice reference in the cathechism book which the Way abide and United with the Roman Catholic Church. United making his/her point that the Way is separatist, cult etc. Which are typical passing judgement and completely uneducated guess with purely motivated prejudice. If the Way was wrong or a parasite? Would it possible it would die in the beginning? Why five Popes supports it if the statutes are in error? The statutes are not just ordinary cookie cutter by laws but studied and scrutinized by Holy Sees. Again, the Way is not enforce each individual but the person has to accept it within the holy spirit. My question is if the Way does not exist; what would work for you within the regular parish life? I love the Way it transformed me via the Holy Spirit.

  6. Anon 5:50 I don't mean to be harsh but you left your community because the War Tim's blog declare? That's kinda shallow and might be a lure cause we all are Anonymous here. If you are in community. How many weeks till your community gather for convivence? And Tell me about the tripod?

    1. Tripod is:
      1) the Word - proclaiming the Gospel
      2) Litugry- celebration of Faith
      3) Community- the communion of those who have heard the Word and live in the unity of love

As for what community I am in is of no importance to anyone. Your question is narrow down who I am. Let Go, Let God!

    2. Dear Anonymous at 7:54 a.m.,

The Neocatechumenal Way is not about going up. It is about going down. We go down the steps to enter the waters of baptism. Your catechists would explain to you the meaning of this. In the Way, you will learn that God chooses the weakest and even the worst sinner as His disciples.

I cannot judge if it is a dupe or not. There is a poster who admitted in Junglewatch that he/she duped me, but I will publish only comments that do not have any derogatory or insulting words. In my opinion, disagreements are okay so long as it is the topic of discussion that is being discussed.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 4:31 p.m.,

That is not what the person said. According to what he/she wrote:

"It is the words thrown out here in the jungle by my brothers/sisters that prompted me to make my decision."

It was all the comments made in the jungle that prompted him/her to make this decision. It was not me because I do not post in Junglewatch. I do not know how many members from the NCW post on Junglewatch. David G and Peter Palomo has posted there a few times, but their comments were not derogatory. It was the "anonymous" comments and Tim Rohr' comments that were derogatory. Remember.....I never called Tim Rohr a vulgar name. He was the one guilty of using vulgarity in his own blogsite. Furthermore, we know that the goal of Junglewatch is to destroy the Way and the Archbishop.

In my opinion, I think that "Let Go, Let God" was making a very rash decision based on "anonymous" comments that may not even come from members of the NCW. After all, someone in Junglewatch is playing around trying to impersonate me as an anonymous poster. So, how much more the rest??

  9. Anon 6:27, your right... I apologize, but their comments do give insight into the type of judgemental reactions one may receive from his/her community if they started to question or even leave the community. Just remember that leaving the community is not leaving the Church, and should not be treated as such.
