Psalm 8: Oh Lord Our God.

I've published a few Neocatechumenal Way songs in my blogsite.  As I mentioned, my favorites are Shema Israel and Mary Little Mary.  Many of the songs sung in the Neocatechumenal Way comes from the Book of Pslams, so I see no reason why any Catholic should complain about it.  There are a few that were composed by Kiko Arguello.  Below is a video of Father Luis playing "Oh Lord Our God" in a Way celebration in Washington DC in 2010 while he was still a seminarian.  The song came from Psalm 8.

  2. Do you know if the NCW sing any songs where the music is composed by someone other than Kiko?

    1. Dear Anonymous,

As far as I know, the songs were composed only by Kiko.

    3. Dear Anonymous,

Is there a problem with having Kiko composing the songs? Or do you feel that music sung and played in the regular parish mass the only Catholic songs that should be sung?

    4. Yes, I have a problem with only Kiko composing the songs. If it were only thing that was exclusively Kiko's domain, I might not be too concerned. But he is also the sole artist, architect, designer, author - and he even has the self appointed authority to exorcise the devil in the cities he visits, and can bless priests (on their knees mind you).

I know personally of many musically gifted members of communities. They are easily capable of writing songs in the Kiko style, that are no worse that Kiko's - and in fact they have. But you and I both know it would be sacrilege to sing anything other that Kiko's.

    5. Dear Anonymous,

Where did you get the idea that Kiko had the self-appointed authority to exorcise the devil and to bless priests on their knees? Could you provide an objective source for this?
