Papal Nuncio celebrates NCW Mass
Below are photos of the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States Archbishop Pietro Sambi celebrating Mass with members of the Neocatechumenal Way on October 10, 2010. So, if the Papal Nucio to the United States accepts the Way's Mass, how much more the Papal Nucio to Oceania? More photos are in weblink below:

He died in 2011.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
DeleteThe point is that he celebrated the NCW mass with its members.....not that he died.
Pope John Paul II celebrated the NCW Eucharist too, once. He is dead too. I think I see a pattern here
DeletePeople who don't celebrate the NCW Eucharist also die. Eventually, we will all die regardless of whether one celebrates in the Way or not.
ReplyDeleteThe point of this post is to show that in 2010 after the Statutes were already approved the Papal Nuncio to the United States celebrated Mass with members of the Neocatechumenal Way. As anyone can see, the Eucharist altar with the menorah is there, and the Nuncio don't have a problem with it.

ReplyDeleteEven the elect will be deceived. The blind leading the blind, and they both fall into the pit.
The Neocatechumenal Way Mass has not got written permission (Recognitio) to celebrate the Mass the way they do. (Pope John II made clear in his Eucharistic Encyclical and following Redemptionis Sacramentum 2003/2004 - all Changes to the Mass must have this written permission.Although Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI celebrated Mass for the Neo's when they visited them, the popes do not agree with "their" changes and the letter on behalf of Benedict XVI by Cardinal Arinze to the Neo's in 2005 to make changes, was blatantly disobeyed.
If you don't believe me, check it out on line. (google " The Strange Mass the Pope doesn't like". Pray for Kiko and "his" Way for their conversion in regards to Holy Mass. Pray for me too that I don't come across sounding uncharitable; but if I don't at least try to correct what is a horrible interpretation of the Mass, then I too become guilty of this Mass full of liturgical abuses.
Dear Anonymous,
DeleteFirst of all, the Redemptionis Sacramentum is not a letter written to Kiko; therefore, you cannot use the Redemptionis Sacramentum as if it was a letter written by the Pope solely for Kiko and interpret that to mean that the Pope was against Kiko's mass.
Secondly, as I already mentioned......the ONLY thing that the Popes have a problem with is how we received the Body of Christ SITTING DOWN. This part was specifically written in Cardinal Arinze's letter written to Kiko. In his letter, he SPECIFICALLY stated:
ON THE MANNER OF RECEIVING HOLY COMMUNION , a period of transition (not exceeding two years) is granted to the Neocatechumenal Way to pass from the widespread manner of receiving Holy Communion in its communities (SEATED, with a cloth-covered table placed at the center of the church instead of the dedicated altar in the sanctuary) to the normal way in which the entire Church receives Holy Communion. This means that the Neocatechumenal Way must begin toADOPT THE MANNER OF DISTRIBUTING THE BODY OF BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST that is provided in the liturgical books.
Nowhere in this statement is he saying that he is against the ENTIRE mass, but the manner is how the body of Christ is RECEIVED AND DISTRIBUTED. As you can see in the statement, the word "SEATED" is mentioned. As I mentioned in the last post, the manner in which the body of Christ has been received and distributed in the past was by sitting down. That has already been corrected. We now receive and distribute the Body of Christ standing up, which is in accordance to the liturgical books.
As for the website you provided, that is simply an anti-Catholic website that misinterpreted the Pope's words to the Neocatechumenal Way. They interpret it to mean that the entire mass of the Way is illicit, when actually it only meant the manner is which the body of Christ was received and distributed sitting down. That website is no longer up-to-date because the problem was already corrected.
The truth may hurt; but the truth will set you free. No recognitio from the Pope for alterations in the neo Mass equals no approval for "their" Mass. God bless you. Courage, as you seek the truth.
ReplyDeleteCathechism of the Catholic Church states in 883: "The college or body of bishops has no authority unless UNITED WITH THE ROMAN PONTIFF, Peters successor, as its head. As such, this college has supreme and full authority over the universal Church; but this power cannot be exercised without the agreement of the Roman Pontiff.
Dear Anonymous,
DeleteHave you not heard? We already have the full support of the Pope. Did you not know that the Vatican had already approve the Statutes and Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechmenal Way? Have you not heard the latest news? Pope Francis has ceased all investigations into the Neocatechumenal Way.
Diane,
DeleteDear Diane,.
The Pope(s) supports much of the NCW, but not the Mass with its additions and deletions. Most of the alterations are not given written approval in the Statutes or Catechetical Directory. And just because Pope Francis ceased all investigations into the NCW can mean that he already is well informed about the NCW's practices and doesn't need to hear more. And just because, the Pope(s) may have been at a NCW Mass, still doesn't mean they approve. If they did, they could easily give the written permission listing all the deletions and additions that the NCW have in their Mass. Why is it that after 50 years this STILL DOESN'T EXIST?

DeleteWhy is it that after 50 years, they still did not excommunicate us??
