The real enemy had always been Satan. He is the enemy of both God and man. I have always said that Tim Rohr is our brother. The devil, who tempts all of us to sin, is the real enemy. Our sins separate us from God and causes the division between husbands and wives, between families, and between brothers and sisters.
In the beginning, Adam and Eve lived in harmony and was in union with God. Their sin of disobedience and pride separated them from God. Harmony between husband and wife was also lost due to sin. But the Good News is that Christ came to redeem and reconcile us with God so that we may have eternal life with God our Father, Mary our Mother, and Jesus Christ our brother. Our battle is far from over.
So, brothers and sisters, continue to walk in the Way. Continue to walk with your community in the Eucharist and the celebration of the Word. Since we are already in summer schedule, our conviviences will pick up after the summer. As many of you already know, the persecution has strengthen us. There is much to give thanks and praise to God. Remember also, that our fight is against Satan. It is not against flesh and blood. It is not against man. Pray for Archbishop Apuron and Archbishop Byrnes and all the clergy because Satan attacks them more than the laity. Pray also for our persecutors because they are suffering tremendously.
It’s really a shame about Tim Rohr. I pity him. After 30 years of marriage, and he lost his wife and kids. I really pity the guy.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous at 11:21 pm,
DeleteIn a divorce, it is always the kids that suffer the most. Both Rohr and his family especially the kids need a lot prayers.
Yeah Rohr has it rough. He’s suffering a lot. He has 11 kids and not one of them wished him a Happy Father’s Day. A poor soul.
DeleteThe devil has been very busy on this island, and sometimes it feels like hes winning. You see it out there. The suicide rate is high. There is a drug problem on this island, and domestic violence is high. A 15 year old girl was killed, and the killer is still out there. One young mother is facing murder charges for killing her newborn child and another new born was abandoned.
ReplyDeleteDear Jane Doe,
DeleteIt is because of those things that Archbishop Apuron brought in the NCW. He saw the sheep suffering, and the NCW already had a reputation of saving marriages, fostering vocations, and strengthening the faith of the people. He requested the involvement of some of the local priests and deacons to help the NCW. Unfortunately, some misinterpreted this as showing favoritism. But Archbishop Apuron saw that there was more to being a priest than tending to a fiesta.
Yes, it is very sad to hear about what happened to those new born babies. I wonder if the mother who abandoned her child also fooled her boyfriend and family members on her pregnancy. How is it that a young woman can be pregnant and her boyfriend and family did not know?
Yes...i agree Diana...."the writting is on the wall"...
ReplyDeleteThis island needs a prayer of deliverance.....
Diana I have some good news regarding cardinal Fernando Filoni because he has been promoted as a cardinal Bishop the reason it’s good news is because you can just read what I’m going to put cardinal bishop. Each cardinal bishop holds jurisdiction over a church in a suburb of Rome. These cardinals work in departments of the Roman Curia, the central administration of the church Often called "the pope's cabinet,"
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous at 12:28 am,
DeleteI do not understand what you are trying to say about Cardinal Filoni nor see how your comment is related to the OP.
Diana there are three types of cardinals: cardinal deacon, cardinal presbyter and cardinal bishop. It is a question related to an ancient tradition of the church. Not to be confused with the title of bishop as is commonly understood. In practice, one between Parolin, Sandri, Ouellet and Filoni, when there will be a conclave for the successor of Pope Francis, will play the role of chamberlain. In practice it will be the "pilot" of the election of the new Pope.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous at 7:17 am,
DeleteSo, you are thinking ahead as to who will be the next Pope? Right now, my mind is more on local matters. I am thinking on whom should I elect to be the next Governor and senators. I would also like to know what the Archdiocese plans to do to help their sheep who are suffering from broken marriages, suicidal thoughts, domestic violence and drug abuse. I know that the NCW will continue their walk and transmitting the faith to their kids. We still plan for our youth to participate in youth scrutacios and pilgrimage.
What about trying to heal the division between the Neos and Non-Neos?
DeleteDear Anonymous at 8:25 am,
DeleteThe division is caused by sin, which are in the hearts of men. We cannot change other people. We can only change ourselves. In other words, we cannot change or take away the hate in another person’s heart. But we can control our response to the person’s hate, and the best response to hate is to show love.
The division started with the clergy and trickled down to the laity. It is not just the laity who need to change, the priests also need to change......they need to be reborn. In fact, the JungleWatch Nation even admitted that our local priests have not changed at all. They still remain the same.......only this time, you can see it more clearly because the RMS priests are no longer at the Cathedral. According to the jungle:
“Unfortunately for us, rather to work to rebuild from scratch, the local priests opted to revert to their old habits, and jockeyed for power. The combination of the Ego of Fr Jeff, and the ambitions of Fr Mike and Msgr James, led to a situation where other priests felt quite dejected and lost their positive spirit.”

You see.....even the jungle admitted that our local priests still have their old habits. They have not changed. Even with the RMS priests gone, they still have not changed. Now, the division is between themselves and other diocesan priests. We need to pray hard for our priests because the devil tempts them more than the laity.
Dear Anonymous at 7:15 am,
DeleteYou mentioned healing the "division between Neos and Non-Neos." I personally don't think there is a division. I think perhaps what you perceive to be a division is actually an opinion by so many Catholics, that NCW are to act and be a particular way... according to their own interpretation of catholic doctrine.
What we need to be reminded of is that within the Catholic church, there are so many different functions....and there are many different people performing those functions. We can't all be doing the same thing...the priest does what the priest is suppose to be doing, the alter person does what they are suppose to be doing and so on.
My point is that NCW has a function that is different from the other division or department of the church. Some people choose to try to enforce their belief or ideas on what the NCW is and what NCW should do. Mostly these people who criticize the Way are not doing anything to spread the Gospel, to bring the word of God out to the people which is what NCW does. What we have on Guam is a few people who make a lot of noise and complaints about the Way and that is all they are doing.
Myself as a catholic and member of the Way see in the parishes that I go to, that there is no division as you put it. In fact, the NCW, the Legion of Mary, the parish choir, the other guys that pray the rosary ( I don't know their name), etc., all share the same building on the same night, in different rooms. There is no division, we just know that we are doing different things for the church. During church fiestas, the different groups are united in doing the different task to make the fiesta happen.
Sheesh, this is getting long so I'll just end it here.
Catholic from Guam
These 4 prelates are the most trusted of the Pope to the Roman curia, together with mgr. Baldisseri (who is not a cardinal)
ReplyDeleteYep. The battle has begun, and it starts with ourselves. Our walk in the NCW helps us fight against the devil. So, brothers continue to do what we’ve always been doing. Continue the walk and as Diana said, we move on.
