Archbishop Apuron is the Archbishop of Agana

This is what I found interesting in the Pacific Daily News (The bold is mine):
Rome notified Byrnes during the last week of April about Apuron's filing of an appeal, according to Tony Diaz, director of communications for the archdiocese.
Really???? So, Archbishop Byrnes was notified by Rome since the last week of April????  It is now June 14th, and only now he decides to come out and say that Archbishop Apuron still retains his title.

Archbishop Byrnes, the NCW and the RMS priests have been telling you all along that Archbishop Apuron has filed an appeal. The Appeals suspended the penalties and therefore he still holds the title "Archbishop of Agana."  Did you listen???? NO, you did not!  You took it upon yourself to take his title regardless that the Canon law was very clear on the matter. You become the Archbishop of Agana ONLY when Archbishop Apuron retires, resigns, or is removed. In other words, the seat of the Archdiocese of Agana must FIRST be vacant. An appeals did not leave the seat vacant! You already knew that Archbishop Apuron had filed an appeal because he publicly said so, but you went ahead and took his title anyway. I sincerely hope you do the right thing and restore Archbishop Apuron's name back in the Mass and your name back as Coadjutor.

Brothers, pray for our Archbishop of Agana, Archbishop Apuron. Pray the rosary for him. Also, add a prayer for the Coadjutor Archbishop Michael Byrnes.

    My 5cents:

The Vatican said in a statement that in the case of an appeal, "the imposed penalties are suspended until final."

The penalties imposed on Apuron are privation of office and prohibition of residence in the archdiocese of Guam.

It's not clear whether Apuron retains his title of archbishop while the appeal process is ongoing.

(Paragraph earlier it’s said that all penalties are suspended if the appeal is filed. In this paragraph, PDN and Haidee says that “it’s not clear whether Apuron retains his title as archbishop...” I think there is a problem here PDN and Haidee. I will call it DECEPTION. )

The archdiocese said it is still trying to get clarification on this and the length of the appeal process, Diaz said.

The Vatican tribunal’s penalties against Apuron will be suspended until the appeal process is concluded, Giorgio Giovanelli, an expert on canonical law with Rome’s Pontifical Lateran University, has said.

(Now this is FUNNY: we have the expert on canon law, [from Pontifical Lateran Univ. , which Blessed Diego Institute was affiliated], who says penalties against Apuron will be suspended until the appeal process is concluded and Archdiocese of Agana (btw. There are 5-8 canon lawyers who are helping diocese in canonical issues) still trying to get clarifications (LOL). Are those who are helping really canon lawyers? Because it is very clear for what prof. Giovanelli says.)

    And at the end:

"This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more." - Morpheus (Matrix Movie)

  2. Dear sister Diana, I see in the jungle blog of insults, that after your last posts, which the Church's recognition of this gift of the Holy Spirit that is the Neocatechumenal Way clearly appears, they start again with the mystifications. Ok. From this transpires the bad faith and desire to misinform the people of Guam, along with that journalist of your island. These are unimportant things. I believe that the only important thing at this time is the incessant prayer, like the persistent widow about the Gospel, for Msgr. Apuron, Msgr. Byrnes and all the Christians of Guam, that the Holy Spirit can give you the harmony and the fraternal charity. Many brothers all over the world pray for you all ncw and anti ncw. Excuse my scary and ungrammatical english.

    1. Dear Lou,

Yes, we also need to pray for the Coadjutor Archbishop. I hope he understand that if he needs information about the Way, then the Head Catechists of the NCW are the people he should turn to.

The fact that Rohr claimed that an Appeals is an Appeals only when the Vatican approves it only goes to show that Rohr knew nothing about canon law. The Coadjutor Archbishop should have relied on the canon law experts rather than on Rohr or on his own assumption.
The jungle is also not the expert for the NCW.

    2. That makes sense. If Byrnes has a question about the Legion of Mary, go to the Legion of Mary, not JW. If he has a question about the Cursillio, go to the Cursillio, not JW. If he has a question about the Way, go to the Way, not JW. If he has a question about canon law, go to a canon lawyer, not JW. And if in doubt, turn to the Holy See, not JW.

  3. The Archdiocese guaranteed us TRANSPARENCY and they knew of the filing of the appeal since end of April, its now half way through June, Oh well for TRANSPARENCY.

Byrnes says, we need final closure, be TRANSPARENT then!

*be on the look out for this weekends Umatuna(wonder if theyll include an AVISO of Archbishop Anthonys Appeal) For sure it'll have the RETURN of BENEVENTE to the BASilica. Crisostomo to Tamuning, Kryzstof to Agafa Gumas, Nino to Ordot, and so on.

  4. Does that mean that he is free to come back to Guam? Will he?

    1. Dear Anonymous at 9:21 am,

Canon law says that the penalties are suspended until the final conclusion of the Appeals; therefore, he can return to Guam while the appeals is still ongoing. But the choice is HIS to make.

  5. Really what good JW, CCOG, LFM and LGBTQ in evangelizing, preventing suicide and Christian services? Nothing! But rant and sling mud!

What gave them authority, does Byrnes and the rest of his allies fear of being excommunicated. You'll see folks.

  6. It was Byrnes who said Apuron was only a bishop instead of an Archbishop. Now, Tony Diaz comes on the air correcting Byrnes mistake. So, now it’s clear that Apuron is an Archbishop. If Byrnes had come out at the time Rome told him about the appeals, there wouldn’t be these false speculation about Apuron being on the same stage with the Pope during the 50th anniversary. Apuron was on stage, and the pope knew it.

Why did it take Byrnes more than a month to let the public know that Apuron is an Archbishop and still holds the title? Byrnes stole Apuron’s title. All he had to do was come out, say he made a mistake in taking the title for himself. Yeah, let’s hope he sends a memo to all his priests to acknowledge his brother bishop in the prayer of the faithful of the Mass. He needs to stop persecuting his brother bishop.

To Byrnes: Turn to Christ and get to know him. Having an intimate relationship with Christ will help you become a better archbishop.

  7. Does CoAdjutor Archbishop have authority to transfer priests without Archbishop's approval.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 12:52 am,

Yes, he has the authority to transfer priests without the approval of Archbishop Apuron. It is the TITLE that he does not have. He unjustly took Archbishop Apuron's title even after he knew about the appeals.

  8. I wonder if Archbishop Byrnes will inform the priests to include Archbishop Apuron in the Eucharistic Prayer? I doubt it. Archbishop Byrnes claims to be "Archbishop of Agana." Look at the aviso in the umatuna...
    Your thoughts?
