God Provides
Once again, the Neocatechumenal Way is out in the public squares evangelizing. Every community has their own public square, which started after Easter. If I am not mistaken, a community was even born as a result of the Great Mission. Going in two by twos was also a great experience. The first time is always the hardest and the scariest. But eventually, it gets easier.
A few years ago, the RMS priests and seminarians also ventured on a serious two by two mission for two weeks. They started out in Colorado and were assigned to different parts of the United States and Canada. During those two weeks, they brought no money or luggage. They have only their bible and passport. Just as Christ sent His disciples in two by twos, telling them not to bring any money with them, so were the RMS priests and seminarians instructed to do the same. Because they were out on the streets for two weeks without any change of clothes and without showering, some people looked down on them. Although most of them slept on the streets, no harm came to them. God provided.
Some of the stories I heard from these priests were very inspiring. While on the streets for two weeks without money, they did not starve. They are a sign showing that God indeed provides. The reason God took His chosen people, the Israelites, into the desert is to show the world that He can provide them with everything they needed.
God still provides today as He did with those priests and seminarians who went on a two by two mission without money, food, or luggage. They only took their passport and bible with them. For those two weeks, God provided for them, and they came back with interesting stories to tell.

So how effective was that mission? Hungry, sleepy, cold and hardly anyone would listen. Ticket paid by who?
ReplyDeleteSeems more to me like a mission to glorify ones self to others back home.
Dear Anonymous at 6:15 p.m.,
DeleteIt was very effective. You should listen to the stories some of the priests had to tell. As for the tickets, it was not paid by you. We believe that God provides.

DeleteWhat have you done over the past 2 weeks? I dont think you have done nothing...
FYI: The double negative in "I dont (sic) think you have done nothing" actually means "I think you have done something."
DeleteOkay i give you credit for catching that and thanks. What have you done over the past 2 weeks? I dont think you have done anything...
DeleteMaybe David can clarify his thoughts.
DeleteAnother neo response. How could you think that I have or have not done anything? You don't even know who I am but you put it out there to make it seem like you know. Typical kiko.

DeleteSo for the past two weeks, have you gone out door to door evangelizing as we have done in two by twos? Have you spoken out in the public squares as the Way have been doing since after Easter?
Naturally they would not go hungry and be well taken care off. Who does the feeding and the caring? Members of the communities within the area that they are in.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous at 2:40 a.m.,
DeleteActually no. The communities are not there to feed and take care of them. The priests and seminarians were really out there evangelizing for two weeks on the street without money. They only had their Bible and passport. You need to hear their stories.
Really Diana, who do you think you are fooling! Who housed the seminarians here when they first came? People from the communities. Who fed them? People who are from the communities! They didn't live in the streets! They had free room and board, not to mention free taxi driver to take them here and there!
ReplyDeleteI would mention names of those who helped when they first arrived, but I won't! If you want names then let me know on this blog, and you have to publish it. Then call these people and verify it!

DeleteThe communities did not housed or fed the priests and seminarians when they went on a two by two mission that was organized in Colorado. I said that their stories were very inspiring. What is inspiring is that despite that they didn't have any place to sleep or anything to eat, God actually provided for them. In other words, they went to foreign places where no one knows them. They slept in the streets and no harm came to them. Even when they had no food, God provided for them. In other words, they actually followed the biblical verse below and depended solely on God to provide for them.
Mark 6:7-8 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
I am talking about those on island! Never mind elsewhere!

DeleteMy post regarding the two by twos in Colorado was NOT referring to Guam. On Guam, when we go on two by twos, it is only for about three or four hours. The one in Colorado was two weeks, and it involved only the priests and seminarians.
Matthew 6:7
Delete“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
Matthew 6:5
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
Matthew 6:1-34
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
Wow someone formerly in community is really angry. How bout the love of Jesus Christ and attempt to threaten to name the one who serve the seminarian. How bout the hym of charity. What your doing is a mortal sin tryimg to slander who act of love toward the brother
DeleteAnon 4:33, don't comment if you can't make sense.
DeleteWhy would you say someone formerly in community? How can you tell?
