Archbishop Apuron Did Not Run Nor Hide

This is in response to Vince D. and Anonymous 12:08 pm who made the following comments:
  1. So what are you trying to imply? If Apuron is not guilty why did he run in to hiding? I'm just wondering.

  2. So if brother tony is so innocent and falsely accused as you neos proclaim, then why doesn't brother tony take it to court? Why try to get his case thrown out on a technicality of the law? Why not let the truth speak for itself if he's so innocent? From an outside point of view, it seems as if brother tony just wants to avoid going to court and letting the truth come out.
  3.  On May 13, 2016, Archbishop Apuron responded to a sex abuse ad that was placed in the newspaper by Tim Rohr and CCOG.  You can read the Archbishop's response here.  According to Archbishop Apuron:
  4.  .......the Archdiocese of Agana is in the process of taking canonical measures with the Sacra Rota - the competent canonical tribunal - and filing civil lawsuit against those perpetrating these malicious lies."
On June 3, 2016, a press release from the Archdiocese of Agana also mentioned that Archbishop Apuron was taking steps to have a canonical trial and civil trial to clear his name.
  5. On August 25, 2016, Archbishop Apuron came out in video and through the news media stated that Pope Francis has granted his request for a canonical trial.  So, since May 13, 2016, the Archbishop and the Archdiocese of Agana has made it clear to the public that Archbishop Apuron went to Rome to request a canonical trial to clear his name.  This was made public THREE TIMES!!!  It was made public on May 13th, June 3rd, and on August 25th that Archbishop Apuron intends to pursue a canonical trial in Rome to clear his name.
  6. And what did Rohr say?  He claimed that Archbishop Apuron is not going through a canonical trial.  According to Rohr (the bold is mine):
  7. He's in the area. I have "hard copy" evidence. He's not in Rome defending himself at his canonical trial because there's isn't one.
Today, the truth has revealed itself.  Archbishop Apuron is going through a canonical trial just as he says.  Therefore, Rohr is now claiming that the Archbishop ran away or is in hiding.  He emphasized this simply because he does not want anyone to question his mistake when he claimed that there was no canonical trial.  It is unfortunate that the junglefolks never questioned Rohr about his claim that there was no canonical trial. They also did not question why he suddenly changed his story the moment he learned that there was indeed a canonical trial.
  8. Furthermore, the Archbishop is not having the case thrown out due to a technicality.  He is dismissing the defamation lawsuit by the four accusers because he has every right to say that he is innocent.  Cardinal Pell also said that he is innocent, but his accusers did not file any defamation lawsuit against him.  At least, they understood that the accused have a right to say he is innocent, a right to defend himself.  As a matter of fact, Roland Sondia and Walter Denton also filed a 2 million dollar defamation lawsuit against Archbishop Apuron.  Never mind the fact that the Archbishop NEVER said anything to these two accusers.  I have no idea what defamation Sondia and Denton are referring to when Archbishop Apuron never spoke to them.
  9. As for challenging the public law lifting the statutes of limitations, that is also within the right of Archbishop Apuron.  The fact that Rohr, CCOG, LFM, and SNM worked for the passage of a FLAWED AND DEFECTIVE LAW was their problem. They should have worked in getting a just and fair law passed.  That would have been the right thing to do.
  10. Nevertheless, Archbishop Apuron DID say that he was pursuing a canonical trial AND a civil trail.  The canonical trial is only half of it.  The other half is the civil trial.  If found not guilty, the Archbishop intends to pursue a civil trial and file a libel and defamation lawsuit against all his accusers.  And in this civil trial, there will be no dismissals.  As I have pointed out in my last post, priests who have been falsely accused are now fighting back through the civil justice system because it is their name, reputation, and position that was damaged.

  1. Looks like JW is condemning all the Filipino priests. This is taken from JW.

Bad Filipino priests have been dumped into California for over 30 years. Our parish got an active pedophile who drove around with piles of cheap teddy bears in his car to use as bait. The Pastor went into a justifiable blind rage and quickly dumped him back on the closet queen-bishop. The perverse priest disappeared.

One of the most brutal Los Angeles cases was nicknamed "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs". Seven native Filipino priests raped and impregnated a Filipino Rectory housekeeper's 16-year-old daughter. She kept her baby.

All 7 of the priest-rapists escaped from the US unpunished, enabled by evil Cardinal Roger Mahony who blocked all attempts at restitution. The victim finally received a lousy $500,000 settlement from the Archdiocese when she was well into adulthood and had understandably left the Church.

We've had our share of native Filipino womanizers and homosexual pedophiles here too. Lax bishops enable their escape to the Philippines unpunished every time they're caught. Bishops in the PI don't punish them either.

In general, Filipino priests here tend to be racists who only like their own extremely clannish and clericalist people. They don't interact well with Americans, and vice-versa.

I stopped attending St. Anthony's Church here on Guam due to the clannish Filipino priests and people there. I attended St. Anthony's for 9 years and never felt welcome. A priest recently asked me, "What would help you feel welcome at St. Anthony's?" I joked bitterly, "Make me Filipino."

    1. All I can say to these Filipino priests is welcome to the club! Wonder what their Pinoy buddies in the Philippines think about the jungle now?

AB Apuron needs to come back. Diana is right. You can't move forward until the past issues are resolved. Apuron needs to come back and bring Rohr, CCOG, LFM, and his accusers to court. Rohr changes his stories too much, and a man who changes his stories is a man who has something to hide. If it's true that this was all a conspiracy concocted by the jungle to remove Apuron that can restore trust into the church.

    2. Dear Anonymous at 8:11 and 8:33 am,

Filipino priests are being discriminated by the jungle due to their race. Also, women in Guam are now being labeled as "prostitutes" of the worse kind by Tim Rohr. According to Rohr:

      TimAugust 19, 2017 at 1:19 PM

---------- Some of us on Guam are quite aware of how the ladies love to flirt with priests,........

Rohr also wrote the following in his blog:

It is a cult of purposeful flirtation, seduction, and even competition among women to "score" a priest, or at least a seminarian.

Rohr believes that the women in Guam consider it is a competition to "score" a priest or a seminarian. This is his view of Guam's local women.

    3. Hmmmm.....I wonder if Timmy is saying also cuz of his daughter's involvement in the justice for Quinton Bezon. In her opinion, Dana Rohr said:

"Over the past years we've seen a rise in talk about women being heard and feminism and equality. And I feel as though many have become enamored with women being the victim, so much so that actual facts are being ignored. Tell me, where is the equality in that?"

    4. Dear Anonymous at 9:27 am,

I think Rohr is capable of forming his own opinion.

As for the Quinton Bezon case, the woman who was sexually assaulted by Mr. Bezon is also suffering. Mr. Bezon admitted that he was drunk. The woman also admitted that she was drunk.

This is the consequences of alcoholism. In the woman's case, she suffered the consequences of alcoholism. Her suffering is being sexually assaulted. That is something she has to live with. In Bezon's case, he also suffered the consequences of alcoholism. His suffering is being placed behind bars for sexual assault. That is something he has to live with. Both of them have to live with these consequences of alcoholism. Trying to get Bezon free from suffering the consequences of alcoholism would be unfair. Why should the woman be the only one to suffer the consequences while the man gets off free?

  2. Rohr's bad mouthing beratig castigation reviling tirade against filipino priests shows deeply flawed being.

  3. Archbishop not guilty.
    Intended scheme to incriminate Archbishop.

  4. I am a neo-catechumen in Guam. What helps in these difficult moments is the story of Joseph. Especially Genesis 50:20 when Joseph confronts his brothers who wanted to kill him. See what he says :
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
