Advent Announcement

We recently had the Advent Announcement.  All the NCW communities in Guam were present.  Some good news were shared at the Announcement.  This year will be the 25th anniversary of the NCW in Guam. 😀  Yes, the Way has been here for 25 years, and all communities will be celebrating together.  Another great news was announced.  We will be having a pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Israel.  Many of us are looking forward to that pilgrimage.  Many are excited to travel to the Holy Land where Jesus once walked.  We will be meeting up with the NCW from the United States who are also planning to travel to Israel. Travel plans are still in the works, and we will be coordinating with the NCW in the U.S. There has also been much improvement and renovations at the Raina House in Agat.  Soon, we will be adding another story to the building.  God is good all the time!

  1. The neos operate as a separate church, Diana. You have your own Eucharist separate from the church. The neos haven't contributed anything to the parish, so that's why you can renovate and build a second story to the Neo House.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 3:00 pm,

On the contrary, the NCW is part of the Catholic Church. There are 1.3 billion Catholics in the world today. Although the NCW consist of approximately 1 million members, we are part of that 1.3 billion, which is the Church founded by Jesus Christ. There are many movements and organizations founded by priests and lay people, but all of them are part of the one, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church also consist of the Eastern Catholics who are in communion with the Pope. A Catholic should never separate the many different movements and organizations, but recognize that we are all part of the Catholic Church.

Furthermore, the NCW contributes to their parishes through their service in the parish. Some of us are Lector, Eucharistic Ministers, and choir members in the parish Masses. The members of the NCW are no different from the parishioners for we are also parishioners. Also, we are allowed to celebrate the Eucharist as a community and people are always welcome to attend our Eucharist.

    2. It is a moralism to tell someone they should never “separate the many…”

    3. Dear Catholic Guy,

I never said they were separate. I said they were part of the Catholic Church. As St. Paul says there are many parts in one body. All work together. The hand cannot say to the eyes that they don’t need them. All are needed.

  2. Why is it that the Way does not collect offerings and donate them to the needs of the parishes?

See my response at 7:49 am to Catholic Guy above.

  3. Why do NCW communities not take offerings and support their parishes financially? I’ve never seen a community do this. Instead they are told that money is the shut of Satan and then told to give what they have to the itinerant teams. I am confused.

    1. Dear Catholic Guy,

I suggest that you visit the finance officer of your parish. He/She will tell you that whenever the NCW celebrates the Mass in the parish on Saturday evenings, they financially contribute to the parish, and that contribution is recorded. The reason you never see it is because you do not attend any of the Masses where the NCW celebrates. So, go visit the finance officer of your parish since you are so concern about our money.
