The time is coming closer. Soon, we will be heading out to Rome. There are about 300 people going on the pilgrimage. We have finally paid off the balance for our trip, which includes hotel accommodations, busing, airfare, and shirts. Just like World Youth Day, each pilgrim will have a shirt to wear so we can all be identified as Guam folks. We were told that we will get our shirts sometime in mid-April. However, this trip is not like the World Youth Day trip because youths are not the only ones going on the trip. We also have families with children and elderly folks coming with us. We are excited to meet Pope Francis who will be there to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Neocatechumenal Way. The new member of the International Team, Ascension Romero, will also be introduced to us. I have to get used to hearing her name.
The International Team now includes Kiko Arguello, Ascension Romero, and Father Mario. There is always a woman on the team. There is also a Catholic priest on the team. Father Mario Pezzi is an Italian Catholic priest, theologian, and catechist in the Neocatechumenal Way. Father Mario is there to present a theological-pastoral view inside the Way, where he is the leading priest. Every year he carries out the work of collating texts from the Magisterium and Tradition of the Church to help the catechists and members of the NCW. His work is presented each year at the beginning of the catechesis of the NCW courses.
Was just thinking of the possibility of our catechists inviting Pope Francis to visit Guam. But maybe not a good idea because of the mess our Archdiocese of Agana is in. Pope Francis would not be able to stay in the room that Saint John Paul the Great stayed in at the Chancery. The Chancery property may be under new ownership.

DeleteActually, that is a great idea. Archbishop Apuron has been inviting the Pope to Guam. I am sure Archbishop Byrnes can arrange accommodations for him.
How do members of the Way afford to take so many trips to different countries? Year after year for meetings in countries all over the world? Not just by themselves but with entire families?

DeleteGod provides in many ways and with hardwork. For most of us, we fundraise. Others pulled out money from their savings. A few took out small loans. We knew about the 50th anniversary since October so that gave us enough time to fundraise.
Dear Diana, I am curious why is it so important to travel to Rome this May to meet the Pope, when you would meet him at the World Youth Day, anyway? Why is it so important to go on this pilgrimage that some of you guys would go into debt or use up your savings to make it? The end destination of a pilgrimage is usually something holy. What is so holy this May in Rome that you guys take all this trouble with your whole family? Is there any benefit or indulgence provided to the pilgrims?

DeleteWorld Youth Day is mainly for the youth. A pilgrimage is a good thing. For some of us, it is a first pilgrimage. To see the Pope is also a wonderful thing. It is not everyday that we can see the pope, but at least once in a lifetime.
How does Tim Roar afford to bring the fake victims to Guam ??? Maybe someone should tell the pope about the real conspiracy going on in Guam loss of church property maybe they need to read this blog for the truth

DeleteI am not surprised. As I said before, no priest is safe on this island including priests who have already passed away.
Just because the media waited until 5:15 to post the story about Fr. Adrian doesn’t mean anything. The word was out in the streets more than an hour before that. News isn’t just whispered between the pews as one of the comments claimed. News also is shared thru phone calls, text messages and face to face conversations. I didn’t read it on Junglewatch and I didn’t hear it on the news until much later.

DeleteWe all know that Rohr hated Father Adrian and accused him of all sorts of things just as he hated Archbishop Apuron. And look at what happened to the Archbishop. The same thing is happening to Father Adrian. Are these all coincidence? It was Rohr who admitted that he went out looking for Apuron's accusers, the Agat boys. See my post below:
