RMS Relying On God's Providence

A few elderly women from LFM went to the RM Seminary because they heard rumors that Archbishop Anthony Apuron was hiding there.  What is amazing about this is that they were gullible enough to actually believe those rumors.  Where did this rumor started?  It started in the jungle.  And the jungle produced no evidence to support their story.  Nevertheless, these ladies actually believed the rumors that they came with their signs demanding to see Archbishop Apuron.  Now, that is FUNNY!!  :-)

In addition, the RMS board held a press conference at RMS.  According to KUAM news:

"Fierce bias and prejudice" is how members of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary's board of directors would describe a recent report released by the visitation ad hoc committee on the RMS. That report recommended that the Yona seminary be closed for the good of the Archdiocese of Agana - unless they could clarify the seminary's purpose, seek formal accreditation to ensure the quality of its priest formation program, and ensure financial independence.
A press conference was held today in the seminary's library. "The report on the seminary prepared by the visitation ad hoc committee shows a lack of knowledge on the seminary's reality but most of all, what we feel very strongly was there was a fierce bias and prejudice in the report," he said. "This report recommending the elimination of the RMS and the theological institute is highly damaging for our archdiocese and for the spiritual and economic capability of forming priests not only for Guam, but for all of the Pacific," he noted.
Point-by-point, members of the RMS board of directors, led by Dr. Ricardo Eusebio, defended the RMS despite the September visitation ad hoc committee report. In a press conference held on Thursday, the board maintains that the RMS is a diocesan seminary backed by the Holy Father and by more than one hundred cardinals, archbishops, and bishops; that the priests being formed are monitored by the Lateran University of Rome, the University of the Pope, and by the Congregation for Catholic Education in the Vatican; and that those priests serve in the local parishes, and often where no other priest wants to go.
While critics, like members of the Laity Forward Movement, demand they be allowed to visit the seminary because its "what they paid for" as demonstrated on Wednesday, Dr. Eusebio clarifies the RMS is only receiving an average of 5-8% from mass collection baskets. Effective immediately, he said, they'll be relying on divine providence to provide for their needs.
He explained, "The seminary and the institute will feel honored, from now on, not to receive any support from the archdiocese and to depend totally on God's providence."
Dr. Eusebio also used today's press conference to debunk any rumors that Archbishop Anthony Apuron or former RMS rector Father Pius Sammut are hiding at the seminary. "No, it's not true - but if anyone in the press can find out where Archbishop Apuron is, can you please tell me? So I will know, as well."

  1. Devine providence? Has the good doctor suddenly become the new rector of the RMS? Where is David Quitugua? On vacation, camera shy? Hanging out with Apuron and Pius? Devine providence. So the good doctor has finally come out and said that the RMS no longer needs the Archdiocese to be associated with the seminary. Asset number one will belong to the neocatechumenal way. Are you hearing this Archbishop Hon? Father Jeff? They finally said that the RMS belongs to them.

    1. Dear Anonymous at 10:21 pm,

Put it this way.....now that RMS no longer needs anything from the Archdiocese, you can leave it alone. There is no reason for the elderly ladies of LFM to visit the seminary.

    2. Wrong Diana. The RMS belongs to the Archdiocese of Agana and the LFM, CCOG and the rest of the island Catholics can visit the seminary anytime they please. This is just the beginning.

    3. Dear Mr. Terlaje,

From what I understand, the jungle and CCOG believes that the RMS does not belong to the Archdiocese of Agana. In fact, CCOG has been collecting money from its members so they can bring a lawsuit against RMS in order to get the property back.

LFM, on the other hand, has mood swings. One day, they say "Return RMS to the Archdiocese. The next day, they say, "They have a right to be there because RMS belongs to the Archdiocese." They have problems making up their mind.

  2. I mean ... Really???? Haven't they learned yet that they are being manipulated? Used in a sistematic program of lies? Where are their families and friends? Does nobody care that these women are being duped? Come on already!!!

I certainly do hope Archbishop Hon and Jeff are reading this because that #3 came from them!!!

So how does one become financially independent without saying so and committing to it? Make up your mind(s)!! Divine Providence is what allowed the RMS to come into existence and God will certainly take care of it as surely as HE has all these years since our beloved Archbishop Apuron risked and said, YES! I would like for you to try duplicating this seminary on your own efforts...not being arrogant but proving a point that I was one of the doubters simply because I did not believe that God can do ALL things -YOU NEED MONEY, MONEY!! First acquire a place (come on! the Accion sat because who could afford it???), where will the seminarians come from (vocations on Guam sadly were not nurtured - now look!), who will take care of them and feed them, who will teach them, repair and build the many many areas of the hotel that sat abandoned and unkept for awhile? How do you build a library...where will ALL those books come from with NO MONEY? Build a chapel within its confines, to do construction which costs so much again?? The food, the clothing, the vast yardwork and maintenance of such a huge place?? Even the hotels in Tumon go into disrepair because of financial constraints. If you will build, they will come...and so, Divine Providence is nothing to take lightly or be sarcastic about when it comes to God providing when one does HIS WILL! The world is bigger than our puny minds and full of people who are willing to help when asked. Many of the seminarians come from communities who help them as well...the mission families have stood to come here, the women in the seminary who cook and clean - have left their families to be in mission here, along with volunteers from the local communities. VOLUNTEER! Really, this is such a minute list of the magnitude of work that is done daily but out of love for the brother and God and for the evangelisation of Guam and Oceania. So yes, Divine Providence is the BANK OF GOD, the bank that has covered the 92-95% of the operational costs of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary...HIS SEMINARY!! We just do what we can and give what we have and that is already a hundredfold! ...Oh! and it will NOT belong to the Way...I am sure you will be checking on that, too! Smile!

    1. Dear Anon at 1:32AM--
Perhaps I have a difficult time believing as you do because your whole essay above made some of the same claims that some of the most dangerous religious cults made/continue to make: Scientology, Branch Dividians, Moonies of the Unification Church, People's Temple, etc.
When you question accountability they claim you are too attached to materialistic lifestyle, and love money more than God; they believe their leader is Prophet-like, worthy of being a saint; their way is the only way to heaven; etc.

    2. Guahan would be better off with out RMS. It has survived thru the the centuries by God providing them ample number of priests from other neighboring countries like Philippines. God provided for the people of Guahan and will continue to do so, minus RMS.

I agree that God has provided for Guam, and that is why He gave RMS. :-)

    1. Dear Anonymous at 8:18 am,

I saw Tim Rohr's post. He wrote that Archbishop Apuron and Father Pius were hiding in the seminary and to look out for their whereabouts. There are 18 comments under that OP., and not one of those comments belong to Tim. No one asked Tim where his evidence is showing that Archbishop Apuron and Father Pius was in the seminary. They all took his word for it.

And the elderly ladies of LFM were just as gullible. They believed a false rumor started by Tim. It is unfortunate that Tim Rohr did not say that Archbishop Apuron was hiding at the Hilton Hotel. I would love to see the elderly ladies storming the Hilton with their "Defrock Apuron" signs and demanding the hotel front desk to bring down the Archbishop. That would be really hilarious. :-) I can already imagine the face of the front desk clerk.

    2. How many times has Tim Rohr been wrong? Virtually everything he has claimed has eventually been proven correct. There are a few outstanding matters, but I suspect they too will be shown to be correct.

  6. Here is the truth about what CCOG is doing:

    TimOctober 14, 2016 at 9:07 PM

Civil laws would vary by location. For Guam, we have laws in place that would permit us to go after RMS for fraud as well as Apuron, each member of the board, and anyone else associated with the scam.

      Truth of CCOG?

Sounds like an allegation. You keep believing in Tim Rohr and CCOG, you might as well believe that that for a fact, you are also with them and at the root of the division in this archdiocese and a cause of cancer trying to hurt the people of good will.
Go play in the Jungle and not here. But wait, your a spy of Timmy Rohr and you are a follower of the devil that is trying to bring our catholic church down!
