Pope Confirms Kiko For Five More Years

According to news report on February, 2014, Pope Francis confirmed Kiko Arguello as Consultor for the Pontifical Council for the Laity for five more years.  It is also interesting to note that in 2005, Kiko participated in the Synod of the Eucharist.  Considering that he has participated in this synod shows that Kiko is in communion with the Catholic Church.  According to the news report:

Pope Francis has confirmed the initiator and leader of the international lay movement the Neocatechumenal Way, as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

Kiko Argüello will serve for a five-year term. This confirmation is in addition to his nomination in 2011 as consultor of the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization.

The international leader of the Neocatechumenal Way has belonged to the laity council since his appointment in 1993 by Blessed John Paul II, a nomination that continued for the rest of that pontificate and later on, under Benedict XVI.

Argüello has participated as an Auditor in various Synods in the past several years, the most recent being the Synod on the Eucharist (2005), the Synod on “the Word of God in the life and mission of the Church” (2008) and the Synod on “The New Evangelization for the transmission of the Christian faith” in 2012.

On February 1, Pope Francis received 10,000 people from the Neocatechumenal Way in audience at Paul VI Hall. Due to lack of time, the Holy Father was only able to send out 12 of the 40 new "missio ad gentes" teams destined for Asia. Two weeks later, on February 14th, the Holy Father received Argüello, along with Carmen Hernández and Fr. Mario Pezzi, and the presbyters responsible for the other 28 missio ad gentes who will be working in the evangelization of Europe and the United States.

Christ said to love your enemies. The Catholic Church was never our enemies, and the Catholic Church never saw the NCW at its enemy.

    2. The Jungle Watch audience who claim who's heart are full speculation and Judgement and not to mention hatred that Kiko is part of the Pontifical council. Meaning part of the Catholic Church. Again no comparison to Legion of Christ. Mother Teresa, Santa Rita and Saint Bernadette were criticize with their initiative. But the Church approves it why discredit the initiator of the WAY?

  2. From the preamble of Redemptionis Sacramentum:
In order that especially in the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy the Church might duly safeguard so great a mystery in our own time as well, the Supreme Pontiff (John Paul II) has mandated that this Congregation of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments (Cardinal Arinze), in collaboration with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Cardinal Ratzinger), should prepare this Instruction treating of certain matters pertaining to the discipline of the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Those things found in this Instruction are therefore to be read in the continuity with the above-mentioned encyclical letter, Ecclesia de Eucharistia.

    (28) All liturgical norms that a Conference of Bishops will have established for its territory in accordance with the law are to be submitted to the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments for the RECOGNITIO, WITHOUT WHICH THEY LACK ANY BINDING FORCE.

There will be no argument if the Neocatechumenal Way produces the RECOGNITIO for each addition and deletion from the Roman Missal-GIRM. Please provide everyone this written document which Pope John Paul II requested everyone have to prevent liturgical abuses. How long will we abuse Jesus. JMJ
PS - One can read both the Encyclical and R.S.online

  3. Dear Anonymous,

What has this comment have to do with what I posted? Do you know what faith is? Faith has nothing to do with any written document. It is a gift from God.
